Course Description

Across the country, law enforcement agencies offering competitive pay and community support are effectively filling their ranks with lateral hires from agencies where pay and/or community support is lacking. This strategy of recruiting lateral hires is proving to be a great benefit to those agencies and the communities that they serve. However, this is a short-term solution that will not be sustainable if fewer and fewer men and women are entering the profession altogether.

In this two-hour webinar, Attorney Matt Dolan will discuss the strategies being deployed or considered by law enforcement agencies across the country who are looking to act now in the interest of recruiting the next generation of law enforcement officers—many of whom may not be old enough to serve for many years to come.

Topics covered will include:

· The role of School Resource Officers in long-term recruiting

· Embracing a Permanent Recruiting Model

· The role of law enforcement agencies in molding the next generation of qualified applicants

· Developing talent pipelines earlier and earlier
